Our townhouse was on the market for 5 months with no nibbles. Then, June 14, while we were in Wisconsin at Tracey's folks, we got a full-price offer and we took it, agreeing to be out by August 29. We got busy looking for a new house that week. Made an offer on one we really loved, but someone got there first. Looked the next weekend and found nothing. Looked all week and the 3rd weekend made another offer, higher than list. Got beat by an out-of-town couple who needed a house.
Next day, it was rough going. We were sick of looking after only 3 weeks. We found 2 we liked and made an offer on one of them. Accepted right away and everything has gone smoothly since. Ahhh, feels great to be on track before we go on vacation. Would hate to get back from Seattle in the end of July and scramble to find a house, and then insist on an August 29 possession. Could have been stressful.
Quinn's room. The guy was a guitar collector and painted his studio black and red. The red is patterned after one of Eddie Van Halen's guitars. When we asked Quinn what color he wanted his new room to be, he said "Black". When we said, "What's your second choice?", he said, "Red". We're going to leave the paint job.

Just had to update the pics of the townhouse. What a difference Tracey's furnishings and taste made! Now, when I want to find something of mine, it's easy. In the basement. We've loved living here, and we've loved the pool. But there's a baby coming and 2 bedrooms just wouldn't do.
Well, our divorce was final last week. We had a mediation two weeks ago and settled the money, property and custody issues. In the mediation, I agreed to move out by Jan 31. That gave me 3 weeks to find a place. I didn't really think it through :) Afterwards, I realized I'd need an interim place to live in the month of February while I bought a house. I went to my realtor the next day and asked him to show me townhouses nearby that had pools. He found one and it was vacant! I made an offer immediately and now we're on track to close Jan 30. Amazing. I don't have to rent for a month and I couldn't be happier with it. Click any picture to enlarge.
Front, living room, kitchen, view from loft guest area, curious Tuscan mural in master bedroom, wet bar downstairs. I'll use it to wash the chalk off my hands after playing pool, I suppose.
Quinn playing pool. Together, these shots give a view of the lower level. There's a workbench/storage area and a cedar closet that's plumbed for a toilet and vanity. If I ever put them in, I'd have a cedar bathroom.
View from master bedroom deck. This is my favorite feature. I'll put a fireplace out here and read Quinn to sleep by the fire.
The pool and the view of the back of the house.
