To all our friends and family:

It’s time once again for our annual stay-in-touch Christmas letter.  We cherish this chance to maintain ties with those of you whom we see only rarely.  We hope that this little newsletter finds you full of holiday joy.

Anne continues to enjoy her job managing real estate investments in southern California. She sang with the Drake Community Choir in the spring and enjoys singing in the choir at Knox Presbyterian Church where Don is the organist.  Anne also sang at her niece, Ashlie’s, wedding in September.

Don completed his first year at his new job as a trainer and consultant at Solutech.  He teaches Microsoft Certification classes and really loves his job.  He traveled to Louisville, Kentucky and Madison, Wisconsin to teach.  While he was in Kentucky, he tracked down some old Kerby family sites that he had always wanted to visit.  He and Quinn went camping for a whole weekend for the Kerby Reunion in Missouri.  We went boating at Big Creek several times and really enjoyed the outdoors this summer.  Don served as a judge at a national accordion competition and placed 4th at the Iowa State Fair accordion contest.  This year, public television covered it and he had 5 more seconds of his 15 minutes of fame.

Don’s dad passed away right after Thanksgiving last year.  One of his old friends provided the music, which raised everyone’s spirits, and the whole family got to spend some good time together.

We took our first big family vacation in October.  (Don calls it the Theme Park Vacation.)  Disneyland, Legoland, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo and the beach with boogie-boarding and sand castles.  We had a wonderful time.  Quinn liked Shamu best.  And Legoland best.  And swimming in the pool at the hotel best.

Quinn changed day care facilities in May.  He is now in the suburbs with green grass and fresh air!  In the fall, he started Montessori preschool, which he loves.  He also enjoys Computertots, dance class, gymnastics and playing with Legos.  He builds the most complicated spaceships imaginable.  On November 16th, we had everyone over for his 5th birthday party.  He received TWO remote-controlled, robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex dinosaurs.  He was excited because they can fight each other.  We also took some of his buddies to Chuck E. Cheese’s.  On a Saturday.  They loved it but we decided it was our last visit to Chuck E. Cheese’s.

We hold all of you in our hearts throughout the year.  Until next time,

Don, Anne and Quinn
